Should You Seal Your Work After Completing Your Headlight Restoration?

In the factory, your headlights are covered with a UV sealant to protect the plastic lens from Ultra-violet light. The sealant generally lasts for about three years, but after that, the substance deteriorates, and the polycarbonate plastic is vulnerable to the effects of ultra-violet light. Light is what causes your lens to dim and bend the light from your bulb changing it to a yellowish color, making driving through Port Huron at night a more dangerous adventure than necessary.

To avoid the dimming of your fully restored headlights and going through all the labor that got you there, using a UV sealant only makes sense. If you do not apply the sealant, then you will be working on removing the next layer of iodized plastic within six months or, at best, a year.

Come to Cawood Honda to get a headlight restoration kit complete with a UV sealer.
