What is the Difference Between Full-Sized and Compact Spares?

Dealing with a flat shouldn't be a nightmare. Replacing the damaged tire with a spare often solves the immediate problem. Be sure to know the difference between a full-size spare and a temporary compact one. Significant differences exist between the two.

A full-size spare matches the size of the other tires. Essentially, the spare is not different from the four placed on the wheels. Drivers might not need to rush to replace the tire, but doing so usually makes sense. Driving on the space means no spare rests in the trunk.

The temporary compact tire is smaller, has less PSI, and might be limited to restricted driving capabilities. Sometimes called "donuts," these tires may blowout at a specified rate of speed. Replacing these tires ASAP is often recommended.
