Just took home this amazing car and almost cant believe its a stock Honda. Ive owned many Hondas in the past, but have been driving BMWs for the pat few cars for the better driving dynamics and power. The Type R makes my BMW seem like your fathers Oldsmobile. The handling, throttle response, manual shifter, steering feel, and pretty much all else makes this car the new Ultimate Driving Machine.Not sure how Honda engineered out torque steer on a 306HP FWD car, but they did. The 20 wheels with very sticky Continentals provide amazing grip, and the bright red Brembo brakes stop as good as they look. The only downside to this car are the outrageous premiums that the Dealers are asking for it. With an MSRP of 34,990, one dealer tried to suggest I pay 55K for it. I ended up paying just a bit over MSRP, including the usual options. A great car at a great value in my opinion.…

I've had the car for about a year and a half. I swapped out the melt-away 20s for all-season 19s about 6000 miles into it. It now rides like a midsize car, especially in comfort mode, but the road thrum is still ever-present.
The media reports that the Type-R is too quiet, but it has constant hums, buzzes, and chirps that won't let you forget that you are driving a sports car. The exhaust is tuned to make daily driving liveable despite most claims that the exhaust note is weak.
It tops out just shy of 170 mph, and it pulls like a monster the entire way. It leaves almost all other cars in the dust, and at highway speeds, it is genuinely thrilling to downshift and gun it.
Like my old RSX-S, it developed an oil leak, but Honda fixed it, and it has been dry since. Had it been discovered outside of warranty, the fix would have run me $1700 because it was leaking around multiple gaskets, including the turbo. It took a week to fix!
While Honda has a reputation for super-reliable cars, the K20 variants have had issues since their inception, even though no one wants to talk about them. You can Google search K20 oil leaks in discussion boards and possibly get depressed. Much like the old gear grind issues, Honda has a svelt way of glossing past glaring mechanical inconsistencies that would otherwise cripple a car company. The media complains that the 7000 rpm redline pales in comparison to the old 8400+ redline of the original K20s, but these engines would be squirting oil from all their seals if pushed much farther.
The front seats are comfortable for those with waists less than about 36"; otherwise, the bolstering is confining, and your thicker friends will not be comfy in the front. I drove 1100 miles from IN to CO with only a brief nap, and there was no back pain afterward.
The right rear brake has an intermittent low-speed shriek- always while creeping in city traffic- that is unnerving, but they say that's normal. The rear brakes take a lot of heat in this car related to traction control. Surprisingly, the rear pads will likely be needed to be replaced before the fronts. All Civics use the same rear pads, so the Type-R naturally shreds them.
My mixed-driving fuel economy over 11,750 miles has been around 28 mpg. Depending on the trip and my mood, I average between 23 and 31 mpg, which is pretty insane for a 300 hp gasoline car.
I was lucky enough to find a dealer that refused to mark up their new cars, and due to this car's fabulosity, it is now worth more than I purchased it for. Most cars depreciate significantly after 2-3 years, but I just got an offer for more than my initial purchase price!…

The best so far that I owned , came from a m sport 2014 bmw with a dinan tune , still the type r it comes on top…
